Protect Your Identity with LifeLock

With the enormous success of the internet comes all kinds of schemes to steal identities from people. The schemers get very clever and technologically proficient each day, they never run out of ways to defraud anybody. With this scare comes the emergence of different companies promising to help the consumers to protect their identities from the wrongdoers, and one of them is LifeLock, a company that guarantees your good name. When we are told to not share our social security information to anyone unless necessary, the CEO of LifeLock did just the opposite. He gave out his real social security number on TV ads to show the consumers his utmost confidence at how their system works. Apparently one reporter attempted to use his number to open an account but failed.

How does their system work, that's the big question? First, they ask the credit bureaus to set free fraud alerts on the consumers behalf which is usually done in an hour if without a hitch. Next, unless there is a change in the consumers' information or the consumers tell LifeLock not to, LifeLock will ask the credit bureaus to do it again every 90 days or so. Third, Lifelock requests that the consumers name be removed from the pre-approved credit card and junk mail lists and to keep making the requests as they expire. Apparently, this is one way thieves can hijack identities. Next, LifeLock orders free credit reports on the consumers' behalf from the major credit bureaus and are sent directly to them. They also have a WalletLock product where in case the consumers lost their wallets containing all their credit cards, the WalletLock specialists will help them call each credit card, bank or document issuing companies to cancel the affected accounts. LifeLock has identity monitoring package like eRecon and TrueAddress to shut down identity threats fast. eRecon scours known criminal websites for illegal selling or trading other people's personal information, while TrueAddress notifies consumers when the system detected any new address information associated with the name and address of the consumers in the database. Last and certainly not the least, if the consumer's identity is stolen while a member of LifeLock, they promise to do whatever it takes to recover the consumer's good name and spends up to $1,000,000 to do it. Wow, I haven't seen this much of a guarantee anywhere yet.

So if anyone has a reason to think that they might be a victim of Identity Theft, LifeLock is the company you can count on. Don't waste money paying for credit reports when you won't stop looking over your shoulder anyway, LifeLock got your back.
