At the Center of the Action

My girlfriend Joan called this evening 'again' to tell me about seeing police cars, K-9s and helicopters in her area and apparently there was an 18 year old guy shot by a drug dealer at the end of Stearns Street and the shooter fled in a car. People in the neighborhood were instructed by the police to stay home and don't come out because the shooter is obviously armed. Wednesday last week, Joan called us too to tell us the same thing, that there were police cars and SWAT teams in her area. But that time there was a guy who had a rifle with a scope who barricaded himself with his girlfriend in his apartment building. When I told hb the news, I was shocked that he suggested we drove by the area to snoop. Wow talked about asking for trouble, but I went anyway ;-) with Mikey who was already in his PJ ready to go to bed. We had a hard time driving through their street because cars were everywhere. It was like a social event because we met a lot of people, talked to them for quite a while and laughed off the whole thing, my other gf Lea was there too to complete the cast, LOL. We finally decided to go home and just watch the whole thing in the news on tv, but believe it or not until now I still haven't seen the story on tv though the guy apparently voluntarily gave up after shaking the SWAT, SO, and police from all over towns.
