Who doesn't know the name Charice Pempengco when she's graced many popular shows like Ellen and Oprah and sang duets with great singers like Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion? I'm sure all Filipino bloggers know her and adore her, myself included. Charice Pempengco, a petite girl from Laguna, Philippines became an international sensation when in 2007 an avid fan called FalseVoice posted some of her performances on YouTube and then caught the attention of Ten Songs/Production in Sweden. Ahh the effect of YouTube is really marvelous, remember Arnel Pineda was also discovered by Journey through YouTube? Anyway, that YouTube video paved the way for Charice to be discovered and invited by even more shows in Korea, Italy, UK and USA and there's no stopping her. In her recent guesting at Oprah she was able to talk to Celine Dion via video patch and Celine invited her to sing duet with her in Madison Square in NY, and here's a video of that performance taken by an amateur. Celine was so gracious that she gave the spotlight to Charice and sang back up to her.

AuTom - Lea has already made name for herself in a different arena - the theater and has won Tony's already. Charice is just starting in the pop music but gaining recognition very fast.
I agree with you Mira. Charice is fastly making a name on her own and I know that she has a very bright future ahead of her. Like I always say, and most people agree too, that hopefully, she'll remain as sweet and humble as she is.
