A Fun and Safe Sports Site For Kids

Basketball has always been my all-time-favorite sport having come from a country where it is considered as our Number One past time. I grew up watching and following basketball both the national and international games. I saw how at very young age, boys in my country are encouraged to play the sport and there are a lot of sports clinics that offer classes to learn it. But when I moved to US and got married to a guy who loves soccer, baseball and football, I sort of sidetracked the love for basketball and switched to those sports. Now I'm also a big baseball and football fan. Then when the Celtics had a dramatic comeback last year, my spirit soared and I'm so into basketball again. In my heart basketball is still the number one sport that I want my son to learn and play.

To kick-off my son's enthusiasm and encourage his interest for sports, I will give him my blessings to play different sports online. I know how the internet can be dangerous for our young children, but I discovered a safe site for kids to play online sports, it's called ActionAllStars.com. It is safe in the sense that kids can not just sign-up on their own, parent's confirmation is required. Also it has an on-site moderation team that will supervise actions and chat at all times. The players or athletes can send messages to one another and each message is filtered prior to being transmitted.
So this filtering system will actually prevent sharing of personal information and the use of offensive language. Any player who will engage in inappropriate chat or behavior may be banned by the moderation team. Also, parents can create an account to have access to parents tools for their children accounts. At ActionAllStars.com, parents will have peace of mind knowing that their kids are not only having fun playing online but they are in a safe environment as well. ActionAllStars.com curent partners include MLB.com (MLBAM), NBA.com (National Basketball League), and ConnectSafely.org. And last but not the least, signing up with Action AllStars is FREE.

I signed up and created an avatar I called CelticsGirl, obviously because I'm a big Celtics fan ;-). It was not hard at all to navigate the site. I tried to play in the hard court; to shop at the NBA shop; to play the AllStar handles; and to play at the Big Bites league, and I tell you I had great fun. This will be perfect for my son, he will definitely enjoy these games too.
