Picture Meme

This is an interesting meme that I received from BFF Barb of Definitely Maybe.

Here are the rules:
1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
2. Go to the 6th Folder and then pick the 6th Picture.
3. Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes with the picture.
4. Tag 5 other glorious people to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog telling them about it.


This picture was taken at Hard Rock Cafe in Makati, Philippines on June 22, 2001 when hb (who was only my fiance then) was visiting. And who would not recognize that famous guy in the picture with us? Yes, he's Joey Generoso or Joey G of Side A Band, my all time favorite band. I used to follow him anywhere they perform and we were so lucky to see him up close and actually talk to him too. I was not aware that his band was performing at HRC that night and he was rehearsing with other band members together with Lani Misalucha (another great diva singer). It was like we were treated to a free concert!

Hard Rock Cafe is hb's favorite place to eat and shop for souvenir t-shirts, he's got t-shirt from different countires he visited. So I took him there for a treat without knowing I will be treated big time myself. Anyway, that night we were also killing time because it was too early to head to Greenbelt where my sister would meet us to see the concert of Martin Nievera. I was so embarrassed to leave, when Joey asked me if I will stay for the show, so I just said I would. Anyway, it was a big mistake going to Martin's concert, it was such a drag., his encore was longer than the show. If only we were not committed to my sister who was paying for the tickets, we would have stayed at Side A's show. Now if you ever bring up the name of Martin Nievera to hb he would just smile and say, he will never again watch another Martin Nievera's concert, LOL.

  1. LOL So Rob thinks Martin Nievera is a bore eh? He's also O.A. sometimes. he he I also like Side A band. I was introduced to them and to their music by my cousins in SF. They produced the band's show in SF a couple of times. I think I still have the CD they gave me with all their signatures. no, I'm not a groupie. lol
    Thanks for doing this BFF! It's fun to see you and Rob looking so young!

  2. Wow! I only like the songs of Martin but i don't like him personally being O.A heheh and i like the tag..thanks you!:) Now, I have to scan my cd album since my computer was just reformatted so no pics stored yet!:( I'll let you know..Thanks again!:)

  3. Side A is probably one of the best bands in the Philippines. Joey G's son used to go to a school where I taught. He had some funny stories about his son then. Is the band still active?

  5. Before I read the whole post, I was wondering if the guy is Joey Generoso of Side A, and I was indeed right! Oh my, I just love his voice so much! I'm one of his tons of followers, hehe!

    Anyway, thanks alot for the tag Mira! Will do it one of these days! Very much appreciate it.

  6. @Barb - yeah I couldn't defend Martin from Rob's negative comment because I also felt the same way, LOL, even if I was a great fan of Martin and Pops during the Penthouse Live days *wink*.

    @Glorie - yeah sometimes he can be overbearing, LOL.

    @Pinay WAHM - really where did you teach? I saw him a long time ago with his wife and son in Saisaki. His son was still very small then.

    @Debbie - yeah don't you love his voice, I don't get tire listening to their music!
