Can't Do Without A Car

Last week I had a pretty bad start of the week because my car's battery gave up on me without any warning. I canceled out on some activities for my son because I didn't have a ride. I thought that maybe I left some lights on that discharged the battery, but my SUV would have alarmed if anything was not in order when I got off. So probably I really needed a new one. But hb jump-started the battery and let it run for few minutes and it was running good again, till it was parked in the garage overnight. The following day it wouldn't start anymore. So what hb did was to detach a cable attached to the battery overnight while the SUV was not in use and reattached it the following day to check if it will run again and it did. Hb is pretty good about cars, he's got a lot of gadgets in the garage like one of those car lifts. If he only had a lot of time in his hands, I'm sure he would rather do the regular check-up and oil change himself than spending money taking in the cars to the dealer for maintenance. Anyway, my car is running good again with the same battery, but I will still make an appointment for check-up for my peace of mind. I don't wanna get stalled somewhere with my tot, that would scare me.

Cars are only good when they work! My hubby's old car finally died off a few months ago. We were walking everywhere for about three months, until we were able to save enough money and get a new one. The new one works great. :) You know we saved up a lot of money without gas during those three months too hehe.

@CB - That's great! I wish there were more public commutes here where I live, it'd probably save us more money too.

@Mize - No problem! Are you talking about the Bravejournal PR? ;-) thanks!
