Death of a Legend

Where were you when you heard the news of Michael Jackson's death? Hb was goofing around with our son while I was trying to watch the news on TV when the anchor announced a breaking news that a legendary singer of the 80's has died with inset video showing people converging in front of UCLA hospital. The anchor didn't name the singer yet as if confirming the veracity of the news. I was so shocked when I finally learned that it was Michael Jackson who just died, unbelievable. His death was untimely and shocking. I immediately checked the news online, and apparently he expired about 15 minutes ago of the announcement on TV. What a tragic news. MJ's death overshadowed every other news on TV like that of a politician who had extra-marital affair and the already annoying Jon and Kate saga. Even the death of the icon Farrah Fawcet on the same day seems not a big news anymore. Perhaps because Farrah's death was expected and just a matter of time, while MJ's was very sudden.

Michael Jackson's legacy will not be surpassed. His music has influenced so many people. He was a brilliant singer and songwriter with monumental success. I always love the irresistible beat to his music.
His signature moonwalk moves and single sequined glove have always been imitated. Despite his eccentric looks and scandals that attracted curiosity, he will always be remembered for his talents. May you rest in peace MJ!

I heard it on the radio while driving to work! The DJ said "the late Michael Jackson..." and I was like, what?! He's dead?

It's a sad day for all Michael Jackson's fans. It even rained here : (

But I did not find his death as shocking as Princess Diana's death. That was far more shocking to me, though both left a deep impact on me.

@ foongpc - yeah the death of Princess Diana was really shocking at a different intensity. I remembered shedding tears when I learned about it on the radio while driving too. I even called a friend to check out CNN if it was really true, it was very surreal.

I was doing some blog hopping when I read the latest post of a co-blogger, "Michael Jacson Dies". I was like.. ah, whattt? Is this a joke? So I turned on the TV to CNN and confirmed the veracity of that post. I saw Larry King talking to Cher about the MJ's sudden death. It has really shocked the whole world.

You are tagged, Mira. No pressure though. Please see http://ailecgee.i.ph thanks!
